Anaïs observed a portrait of a woman as artist /

DVD 6991
Henry Miller odyssey
This documentary illustrates that Mr. Miller has far more to offer an audience than his sexual politics (which are not reflected in the film). Mr. Miller himself narrates in his hoarse, nasal voice, and details a writer's apprenticeship, and his travels from Brooklyn to Big Sur to the exhilaration of Paris. Mr. Miller scorns all conventional work and celebrates play, although his own enormous industry is more than hinted at, and his lifelong interest in the occult, worship of the arts, studies of dreams, and his romanticism combine to form a portrait of himself, 'Huck Finn as urban aesthete.' There are walks around Paris, and visits with old friends, including Anais Nin, Lawrence Durrell, Brassaï, and others. One highlight of the documentary is a reading by Mr. Miller from one of his own texts.

Includes the music of Renaissance composers Claudio Monteverdi and Girolamo Frescobaldi.

World of Buckminster Fuller
"Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983) was an architect, engineer, geometrician, philosopher, futurist, inventor of the famous geodesic dome, and one of the most brilliant thinkers of his time. His legacy becomes ever more relevant, providing us a road map to steer our planet away from oblivion-- and toward a sustainable future for all of humanity. This film ... transports the viewer into Fuller's mind and soul. Told entirely in his own words, the film is an intimate, personal and inspiring message from Fuller to our fragile world"--Container.
